What You Will Be Doing
Working as an Emergency Mental Health and Access Supervisor you will be responsible for supervising the assigned staff in the emergency mental health department providing services to adult consumers. You will work to provide effective leadership and guidance to a team of clinicians meeting with individuals and families to provide emergent mental health interventions and services. You will review service authorization decisions, utilizing defined criteria, to ensure that consumers are receiving the right combination of services to meet their needs and achieve identified outcomes including both same day access and emergency mental health services.
In this position, you may assist with client assessment of mental health and/or substance use treatment needs, diagnosing and documenting in client case records accordingly. You will assist in providing supervision and coverage for 24-hour services, both as a clinical supervisor and providing support and coordination to community agencies as needed. This role includes working during variable shifts, including evenings. You will also attend meetings within the agency and with other stakeholders to ensure quality of care.
This full-time position is during the evening shift, with shifts running from either 12pm - 10pm, or from 11am - 9pm 4 days per week or 1pm to 9pm 5 days per week

What We Require
You will have a master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology and a minimum of five years’ experience working with adults and/or youth with substance abuse disorders, severe mental illnesses and/or co-occurring disorders
. Two years administrative and supervisory experience in a mental health setting is preferred. You will need a valid Michigan Motor Vehicle Operator's license and reliable transportation. You must hold, and maintain, one of the following professional licensures:
Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Limited License Psychologist (LLP). A Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) is preferred.

Working Conditions:


Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations, including, but not limited to, visual and/or audiological appliances and devices to increase mobility.

Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing. Requires light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot and ability to hear and communicate verbally.

Working Conditions – In office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. May be exposed to blood borne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. May encounter community environments that include homes, schools, courts, and other community settings that may or may not be barrier-free. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area may be required.
