Peer Recovery and Outreach Coach - Engagement Team

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work full-time (40 hrs/wk) as a Peer Recovery and Outreach Coach with the Engagement Team.

As a Peer Recovery and Outreach Coach on our Engagement Team you will work in office and community settings to provide outreach services for individuals with substance use disorders and other behavioral health conditions. You will work together with an Engagement Team Clinician to track and link individuals with treatment and community services. A knowledge of the social service system in Kalamazoo and a willingness to be part of a culturally responsive team-based approach to care are necessary for this job.

Your schedule will consist primarily of shifts from 10 am – 8 pm, Monday through Friday, with a requirement to work occasional Saturdays (eligible for weekend shift differential).

You will have a High School diploma or GED with a minimum of one year of experience working in a peer capacity as well as being a Michigan Certified Peer Recovery Coach, or being eligible for the same. You will have lived experiences with behavioral health issues and knowledge of self-determination principles and person-centered planning processes.
You’ll have a valid Michigan driver’s license with reliable transportation. You’ll have basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management and e-mail along with basic knowledge in the use of electronic office equipment, including copy and fax machines. Bilingual or bicultural community membership is preferred.

In office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. May encounter community environments that include homes, schools, courts, and other community settings that may or may not be barrier-free. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area may be required.
