OverviewThis consulting engagement places a Director-level FP&A leader into a high-visibility finance transformation initiative focused on upgrading planning, forecasting, and performance management capabilities. The consultant will assess current FP&A processes, models, and reporting including post-M&A complexities and design an improved, insight-driven framework that strengthens executive decision support and operational performance across manufacturing/CPG activities.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and redesign budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning frameworks
- Evaluate financial models, assumptions, and scenario capabilities
- Enhance performance reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, KPIs, variance analysis)
- Improve management reporting, dashboards, and executive insight packages
- Align FP&A outputs with operational drivers (volume, mix, pricing, cost)
- Support or lead FP&A aspects of post-M&A integration (KPIs, reporting, planning alignment)
- Partner with business leaders to translate analysis into actionable decisions
- Collaborate with Accounting to ensure alignment between actuals, forecasts, and reporting
- Identify and implement FP&A process and tool improvements
- Advise leadership on planning assumptions, performance risks, and opportunities
- Deliver future-state FP&A framework and prioritized implementation roadmap
- Led enterprise budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning cycles
- Built and maintained advanced financial and scenario models
- Delivered monthly/quarterly performance and executive reporting packages
- Partnered with senior stakeholders on strategy, pricing, and cost initiatives
- Designed or enhanced reporting frameworks and dashboards
- Supported strategic investments and performance improvement programs
- Led FP&A integration in post-M&A environments
- Managed and developed FP&A teams and standards
- Collaborated cross-functionally across Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams
- Served in FP&A consulting/advisory or finance transformation roles
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA a plus
- 10+ years FP&A or corporate finance experience with leadership responsibility
- Deep expertise in planning, forecasting, modeling, and performance management
- Strong executive-level presentation and storytelling capability
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling; BI/reporting tools experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes
- Excellent communication skills with ability to simplify complex analysis
- Strongly preferred: CPG, Food & Beverage, or manufacturing experience (volume/mix/pricing/cost drivers); post-M&A exposure
- Management consulting or FP&A advisory experience
- Big 4 or consulting firm background
** The role compensation will be $100 - $135/hour**
