The Gilmore Festival Fellows Transportation Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, driving, and providing logistical support for the 12 Gilmore Festival Fellows during their residency in Kalamazoo from May 1–10, 2026. Transportation will primarily be concentrated in the areas of downtown Kalamazoo and Western Michigan University’s School of Music.
The Gilmore Fellows Transportation Coordinator will work directly with the Director of Education and the Education Manager to create a transportation schedule for the Gilmore Festival Fellowship. The coordinator will then be responsible for executing the plan, and responding to the needs of the Fellows during their stay.
About The Gilmore The mission of The Gilmore is to nurture and celebrate a passion for piano music.The Irving S. Gilmore International Piano Festival (The Gilmore) promotes and develops world-class musical experiences through its Gilmore Artist Awards;
Larry J. Bell Jazz Awards; an annual 10-day music festival featuring the most accomplished international pianists; outstanding piano education and community engagement programs, and the commissioning of new music for the piano.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
- Excellent verbal, written, and texting communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
- Daily availability from April 30 – May 11, 2026.
- Ability to drive a 12-passenger van.
- Familiarity with downtown Kalamazoo and WMU’s campus.
- Experience creating and communicating schedules using Google tools.
SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, with an emphasis on Google Sheets, Google Calendar, and data management.
- Familiarity with Whats App.
- Secondary languages.
- Musical knowledge and familiarity with classical and jazz music.

Pay Range and Hourly RequirementsThis is an hourly part-time position, with pay commensurate with experience and skill, starting between $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.
The hourly commitment is as follows:
- January 2026: 2–5 hours per week (part-time).
- April 2026: 5–10 hours per week (part-time).
- April 30 – May 11, 2026 (Festival Dates):
Daily commitment required, with potential for overtime.
