Key Responsibilities- Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs using specified software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications to define measurement strategies.
- Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process, and final product inspections on manufactured parts.
- Analyze measurement data, identify non-conformances, and generate comprehensive inspection reports.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve measurement challenges and improve part quality.
- Maintain CMM equipment, ensure proper calibration, and perform routine troubleshooting.
- Select appropriate probing systems, fixtures, and setups for accurate and repeatable measurements.
- Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
- Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including comprehensive GD&T standards.
- Solid understanding of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and inspection processes.
- 3+ years of experience programming CMMs in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot CMM programs and optimize measurement routines.
- Technical degree or certification in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related engineering field.
- Proficiency with advanced CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, Inventor).
- Experience with other metrology equipment such as vision systems, laser scanners, or optical comparators.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods and software.
- Experience in designing or fabricating inspection fixtures for CMM applications.
