Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tooling, including jigs, fixtures, molds, and dies.
- Lead tooling projects from concept through validation and production implementation.
- Provide expert technical support and troubleshoot tooling‑related issues on the production floor.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance and repair programs for all production tooling.
- Conduct root cause analysis for tooling failures and implement effective corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of tooling into manufacturing processes.
- Evaluate and select appropriate tooling materials, manufacturing methods, and external suppliers.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, Mastercam) for tooling design.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, injection molding, machining) and tooling materials.
- Experience in tool design, fabrication, maintenance, and modification.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and optimize performance.
- Knowledge of metrology and quality inspection techniques for tooling validation.
- Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, mold flow analysis).
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of advanced tooling materials, coatings, and heat treatment processes.
- Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
