Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineer
Shape the future of water technology through advanced power electronics innovation!
Imagine yourself…
Doing meaningful work that makes an everyday impact on the world around you.
Owning your ambition and fueling your career growth.
At Trojan Technologies, you have the power to make it possible.
Trojan Technologies, a Veralto company, plays a vital role in making the various stages of the water treatment process more effective and efficient. Our products and services have applications across municipal wastewater, drinking water, environmental contaminant treatment, and residential water treatment, along with ultra-purification of water used in food and beverage manufacturing, pharmaceutical processing and semiconductor applications.
When you join the Trojan Technologies team and the broader Veralto network, you become part of a unique culture where purpose meets possibility: where the work we do makes an everyday impact on the world’s vital water resources, and where you’ll have the power to deepen your skillset, own your ambition, and fuel your career growth.
If you are a senior power electronics engineer who wants to work on technically challenging, real world designs—not incremental tweaks or siloed work—this role offers a rare opportunity.
As a key member of our Hardware Engineering team, you will design, develop, and sustain advanced power electronics and lamp driver technologies that enable ultraviolet (UV) water treatment systems used to protect public health and the environment around the world.
This is a hands on technical role with ownership from concept through production, working on both new product development and the evolution of existing, field proven designs. Your work will directly influence our technology roadmap and the next generation of UV systems.
Why This Role Is Different- End to end ownership – You won’t just design blocks on a schematic. You’ll architect complete power solutions, prototype them, validate them, and see them into production.
- Real engineering problems – High power, high voltage designs, custom magnetics, EMC challenges, reliability tradeoffs, and field troubleshooting.
- Meaningful impact – Your work enables safe water and environmental protection at a global scale.
- Depth – A technically strong, collaborative team that values engineering rigor and practical execution.
- Leading the design and development of power electronics for UV light sources, from concept through production.
- Selecting and applying conversion topologies and control circuits appropriate for high power applications.
- Designing microcontroller based control circuitry and collaborating closely with firmware engineers on control strategies.
- Designing and specifying custom magnetic components and associated hardware.
- Creating schematics, managing PCB layout, and overseeing component selection.
- Prototyping, testing, and validating power electronic assemblies in a lab environment.
- Ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and EMC requirements.
- Supporting thermal, mechanical, and reliability design considerations.
- Performing root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and failure investigations on existing products.
- Supporting sustainment activities, including component obsolescence and reliability improvements.
- Creating and maintaining engineering documentation, technical reports, and BOMs.
- Designing and deploying test fixtures and applying structured problem solving methods.
- Contributing technical insight to product and technology roadmaps.
Required experience and skills:
- 10–15+ years of hands on experience in power electronics design with proven ability to analyze, select, and apply power conversion topologies and control circuits.
- Experience with microcontroller based control circuits and associated firmware concepts.
- Strong background in PCB CAD tools, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
- Experience designing custom magnetics and high power electronic assemblies.
- Demonstrated success delivering robust, production ready designs, not just prototypes.
Nice to have:
- Experience with lamp drivers, electronic ballasts, motor drives, or similar high power systems.
- Experience designing products that meet UL /…
