Base pay range$33.00/hr – $37.00/hr
OverviewSince 1959, HECO has kept critical industries—from power generation to pharmaceuticals—running reliably. As an Electro-Mechanical Field Service Specialist, you’ll be the go‑to problem solver on customer sites, restoring performance and preventing downtime on vital machinery.
A day in the fieldMorning site visit to diagnose an unexpected vibration event. Midday, you perform precision shaft alignment on a sleeve‑bearing motor. Afternoon, you validate insulation health with Megger, Surge, and HI‑Pot tests. You wrap up by briefing the customer and submitting a clear, technical report.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and test electro‑mechanical equipment to pinpoint issues and confirm performance.
- Run electrical diagnostics with portable instruments (Megger, Surge, HI‑Pot) and document results.
- Perform mechanical inspections on sleeve‑bearing machines and related rotating assets.
- Deliver field services including electrical testing, vibration analysis, and precision shaft alignments.
- Translate findings into actionable recommendations and communicate them directly to customers.
- Produce thorough service reports that capture scope, data, and corrective actions.
- Represent HECO professionally on‑site and model our core values.
- 2+ years in electric motor field service or millwright work.
- Mechanical aptitude with exposure to rotating equipment (strong plus).
- Collaborative communicator who can explain technical topics clearly.
- Fast learner who thrives in dynamic, real‑world environments.
- Detail focus and the ability to write concise technical reports.
- Willing to travel about 40%, including some overnights.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Work in varied weather and challenging industrial settings.
- Perform manual labor for 12+ hours per day when required.
