Kalamazoo Christian Schools is looking to hire a Spanish Immersion Teacher for Elementary or Middle School for the 2026-27 school year. Teachers at Kalamazoo Christian Schools carry out faithfully all the responsibilities of a Christian teacher by preparing students to serve God responsibly in His world, by equipping them with knowledge, skills and a Biblical vision for life, for the advancement of His Kingdom.
The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong & active Christian faith. He/She will understand & be committed to the mission & vision of Christian education.
Fundamental job skills & competencies include collaboration, communication (oral and written), critical thinking, dependability, interpersonal skills, organization, providing motivation & confidence, relationship/team building, stewardship, technology competency, & time management.
Responsibilities- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the school's Christian values and academic standards
- Foster an environment of spiritual growth and character development
- Monitor and assess student performance, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to support student learning and development
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress
- Uphold the school's mission and promote a positive school culture
Must be a native speaker or near native fluency in Spanish and English.
Education Requirements- Minimum:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field - Current Michigan teaching certification in subject area is preferred, willing to partner with the right candidate toward a path to certification after hire
