Automotive Service Advisor at DeNooyer Automotive Family

Location: Kalamazoo, MI

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $70,000 – $130,000 per year (adjusted for skill/experience)

Service Advisors manage the customer experience for quick-service appointments. They communicate customer concerns to technicians and recommend services based on the vehicle’s needs.

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and clean driving record
• English reading, speaking, and writing skills (bilingual encouraged)
• Basic computer, tablet, and telephone system proficiency
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills

• Greet customers promptly and friendly
• Perform vehicle walk‑around using Pro Talk methods
• Create, book, and cashier repair orders via dealer management system
• Listen to customers to identify maintenance needs
• Collect accurate customer and vehicle data
• Advise on maintenance, warranty, and recalls per manufacturer policy
• Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index (SPSI) and hours-per-repair standards
• Communicate estimates for labor and parts
• Schedule appointments when needed
• Track repair progress, communicate changes, and finalize invoices
• Deliver finished vehicles and address customer questions
• Maintain manufacturer certifications

• Comply with federal, state, and local regulations (hazardous waste, OSHA, etc.)
• Follow up with customers after visits
• Maintain follow‑up program for additional items
• Ensure quality control and prevent re‑work
• Interact positively with diverse customer groups
• Foster a positive team environment
• Assist coworkers’ customers when needed

• Fast‑paced environment with all weather conditions, heat, rain, snow, and possible fumes or loud noises
• Weekend work required, except Sundays
• Stand for 6–8 hours at a time
• Lift up to 50 pounds
