Guest Service Representative, Full Time Rate of Pay: $24.18/hour

Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Full Time Guest Service Representative to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.

Brief Summary of Job:
Responsible for serving guests at the front desk while providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous and professional manner by following Marriott standards of hospitality and adhering to guidelines and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to guests.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
  • Accommodate guests by making them feel welcome, informed, and cared for during the entire length of their stay.
  • Anticipate and respond to guest needs.
  • Handle all aspects of guest registration, including expediting check-in/check-out, following rate structures, issuing room keys, informing guests about hotel features and amenities, and satisfying special requests whenever possible.
  • Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check daily event sheet, bulletin boards and stay up to date with all changes and new procedures.
  • Have knowledge about room rates, packages, discounts and promotions and know how to handle each.
  • Maintain understanding of special guest programs and franchise related programs.
  • Find solutions quickly and confidently address and resolve guest concerns.
  • Distribute faxes, packages, and mail to guests for delivery or inform guest of receipt as necessary.
  • Answer phones according to service standards and within 3 rings.
  • Full understanding of the Front Desk system for all guest services.
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Knowledge/Education/

Experience:

Proficient in Microsoft applications. One (1) year front office experience preferred. Ability to speak Japanese a plus. Ability to speak multiple languages preferred. High school graduate desirable.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements:
Must be able to communicate in English with guests, management and team members to their understanding. Ability to provide legible written communications. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.
