HVAC Mechanic

Job Summary

This position requires troubleshooting, repair, and routine engine maintenance such as oil changes, filters, spark plugs, and more.

• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all components of generators, engines, and switch gear.
• Repair, service, and maintain all makes and models of standby generators.
• Conduct start‑ups, preventative maintenance, service, and load‑bank tests.
• Maintain and repair automatic transfer switches.
• Work on common standby generator brands such as Cummins, Kohler, Generac, Briggs, and Stratton.
• Perform administrative duties related to the role (meeting all TJC requirements).
• Meet requirements for certifications.
• 1–3 years of EPG/ Electronics and/or Diesel Engine Repair experience or a technical degree is a plus.
• Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department, and customers.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be willing to work alternate shifts as required to support the mission.

Required
:
High School or equivalent.

Preferred Experience
: 3–5 years in generator or diesel engine repair.

Certification
: NAC/LAC.

License
:
Valid driver’s license.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods, and perform constant arm extensions.
• Occasional exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., with minor safety hazards such as cuts or bruises.

Up to 5% travel.
