This position is located on the Island of Maui, State of Hawai'i.
As a Airport Law Enforcement Officer – Armed Patrol in Kahului, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, its travelers, and airport operations. Pay Rate$28.86 per hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

Minimum Qualifications (No Exceptions)- 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
- Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent (must provide credentials at application)
- Valid Driver's License
- Law Enforcement Officer License
- 22+ years of age
- Certified State law enforcement recruit training
- Certified County law enforcement recruit training
- Federal law enforcement training
- Programs approved by the Director
- No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. 922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings (referring to the decisions in Giglio v. United States, 405 U.S. 105 (1972) and United States v. Henthorn, 931
F. 2d 29 (9th Cir. 1991)). - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions.
- Must be able to supervise contractors' personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees.
- Shall have no record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties.
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
- Exercise sound judgment and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
- Exhibit maturity in conduct, behavior, and attitude.
- Take orders, follow instructions, accept and assume responsibility for one's actions.
- Maintain alertness, attentiveness, and professional conduct; recognize, respond and take appropriate corrective actions to various situations.
- Demonstrate strong moral character and truthfulness.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in English.
- Show courtesy in interpersonal relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement, and security personnel.
- LEOs may be required to provide a court appearance for citations issued on behalf of DOTA. Contractor shall provide replacement staffing for LEOs required to attend a court proceeding.
- Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned post/duties.
