As an Airport Law Enforcement Officer - Armed Patrol in Kahului, HI
, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, its travelers, and airport operations. Full Time - Morning

$28.86 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

• 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
• Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying)
• Valid Driver's License
• Law Enforcement Officer License
• 22+ years of age

• Completion of one of the following approved programs:
  • Certified State law enforcement recruit training
  • Certified County law enforcement recruit training
  • Federal law enforcement training
  • Programs approved by the Director
• No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. 922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions.

• Must be able to supervise Contractor's personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees.
• Shall have no record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
• Effective communication, verbally and in writing, in English.

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
• Execute orders, follow instructions, and accept responsibility for one's actions.
• Maintain alertness, attentiveness, and professional conduct.
• Recognize, respond, and take appropriate corrective actions to various situations.
• Maintain strong moral character and high standards of truthfulness.
• Communicate effectively with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement and security personnel.
• Attend court appearances for citations issued on behalf of DOTA as required;
  Contractor shall provide replacement staffing for LEOs that must attend court proceedings.

• Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for the assigned post/duties.
• In good physical health and fully capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking, patrolling for an entire shift, climbing stairs, running and self‑defense.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (e.g., fire extinguisher) for a designated distance.
• Assist in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or providing support to persons with limited mobility.
• Subject to a random drug screen.
• Exercise physical force, if required, in the execution of official duties.
• Pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and e.
• Well‑groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State.
• Pass a one‑time physical examination within the past 6 months.
• Pass a 12‑panel drug test and all future random drug testing.
• Correctable vision to 20/30 each eye with normal color vision.
• Able to hear at a normal conversational level; a hearing aid may be used.
