Overall Purpose of the Position: A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a nurse that has graduated from an accredited nursing program and is licensed as an LPN by the State of Hawaii. The LPN uses their training for performing quality nursing services for the care and treatment of patients in the offices.

• Performs general nursing duties (escort patient, record vitals, observe symptoms, report to provider during examination). 20%
• Prepares patient records before the visit, ensuring all reports are available; maintains accurate record of medications, injections, and treatments administered; completes requisitions and schedules appointments. 20%
• Directs and supervises other health care personnel in clinic, delegating duties within scope of practice. 20%
• Screens phone calls to the provider to determine appointment need; calls patients to relay instructions or advice from provider; performs patient teaching and checks as per provider guidelines. 15%
• Assists in other offices when directed by Director of Nursing; performs other tasks and duties as directed. 10%
• Makes sure office remains sanitary; orders medical and clerical supplies. 5%
• Completes all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties. 5%
• Demonstrates quality work, completes assignments timely, decides within authority limits, adheres to company policies. 2.5%
• Maintains time and attendance standards consistent with company policy. 2.5%

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; licensure as LPN in the State of Hawaii required; active/unexpired CPR/BLS Card required.
• Ability to manage several tasks at the same time; works overtime as needed; updates education on own as necessary; knows and uses principles of good body mechanics.

• Demonstrates effective communication and telephone skills.
• Computer literacy preferred.

Medical equipment – e.g. nebulizer, pulse oximetry, EKG machine, glucometer, and that specific to area/clinic of primary practice.

Physically fit to perform the duties of the position; willingly participates as a member of the nursing team; possesses effective organizational skills and maintains a “can-do” attitude.

Walking (85%); sitting (15%); lifts 25 lbs with occasional heavier loads.

LPN starting @ $26.06 / MA starting @ $23.72; based on experience.
