Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Kahului location is a 254-bed nursing facility.

The Position

We re looking for passionate Activities Assistant to provide ongoing meaningful activities based on resident s individual needs and interests. Leads group activities and visits residents on a one-to-one basis as directed by the Activities Director.

  • Visits with residents on a one-to-one basis as directed by the Activities Director for the purpose of providing one or more of the following:
    Friendly visits, Physical activity, Emotional support, Sensory stimulation, reality orientation, and Intellectual stimulation.
  • Participates in individual and group activities with residents and other care teams.
  • Reports to Activities Director on resident s responses and/or progress to specific approaches utilized. Documents residents progress as assigned.
  • Accompanies residents on excursions, and drives facilities Handy Van.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver s License required
  • Related experience in recreation setting or with group activities preferred.
  • Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
