Position Summary
Maintains work areas of offices and industrial buildings to keep them clean and orderly. Uses janitorial supplies, maintains restroom areas, and removes waste material. Performs special cleaning projects as assigned. Performs routine cleaning and sanitizing duties such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming. Ensures equipment is cleaned and stored following use. Replenishes products and supplies in assigned area. Alerts appropriate personnel concerning the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Notifies supervisor of need to order various cleaning supplies and equipment. Removes and disposes of debris or trash. May perform basic maintenance and repair duties, including outside grounds work as required. Entry‑level support role performing routine tasks as directed and under close supervision.
- Possesses moderate understanding of general aspects of job.
- Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment.
- Has little or no role in decision‑making.
- Works under close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
- Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0‑1 year general experience.
- 1 year functional experience strongly desired.
- Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
