Process Engineering Intern

Job Summary

Cal Portland is seeking a summer intern for the Corporate Engineering Group. This internship is ideal for a student interested in Process/Automation Engineering. The intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of heavy capital projects and/or maintenance projects. Exposure to various plants, aggregate, ready-mix, and cement.

Compensation

$20.50-$27.00/hr DOE

Responsibilities

* Assist in Gyp/Urea testing and record-keeping

* Assist in monthly Process Performance report data gathering

* Assist Automation team as required

* Assist in coal mine audit

* Complete Safety and MSHA training and any other site/job specific required training

* Carry-out and practice all Safety training and Company policies in the Cal Portland workplace

* Additional work with other engineering disciplines

* Assist in routine housekeeping and maintenance of the facilities

* Learn about other Cal Portland departments and interface as required

* Attend summer intern orientation event at corporate headquarters in Las Vegas, NV

* Perform plant tasks as assigned

Education

Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Process or Automation Engineering

Requirements/Qualifications

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

* Good attendance and punctual

* Ability to work a flexible schedule

* Ability to work independently and in a team setting

* Must possess a valid driver's license, insurance and be insurable to drive company vehicles

Preferred:

* Experience with equipment management software

* Prior experience or internship in the construction or building materials industry

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
