Logistics 1st Shift Warehouse Associate

Overview

It s more than a job. As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so with precision, you contribute to the success of your team and to the day-to-day operations in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations.

• Move materials within the warehouse and load/unload materials onto or from vehicles using a forklift, reach truck, order picker or other heavy material handling equipment.
• Receive, store, pick, pack, verify, ship/manifest, screen and perform other duties as assigned to ensure full and efficient operation of the warehouse.
• Perform multiple warehouse activities to ensure the full and efficient operation of the distribution center, such as receiving, sorting, picking, packing, and shipping orders.
• Data entry, compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be entered.
• Compile statistics and prepare various reports for management.
• Examine records such as manifests, invoices, bills of lading, and related documents and resolve process inefficiencies.
• Confers with warehouse or carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
• Investigate overdue and damaged shipments or shortages for customers and/or carriers.
• Analyze complaints concerning services rendered and refer issues to designated departments, updating customers on a timely basis.
• Record and retain meeting minutes.
• Continuous improvement and other duties as assigned.

• Minimum Education:
  
  High School Degree or Equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or quality assurance
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
• Experience with SAP or any Warehouse Management System (WMS) is highly desired
• Exercises initiative in following up on pending issues and action items
• Ability to effectively solve problems
• Must be a US Citizen
