Epic OpTime Analyst

Overview

Epic OpTime OR, Anesthesia inc. Sedation & Perfusion Analyst supports the mission of Jupiter Medical Center by configuring and supporting clinical applications within the Epic electronic health record (EHR) software. This role consults with members to provide solutions that offer accurate, secure, and efficient patient care and provider workflows, medical and billing information for patient’s providers and clinics, with a focus on quality outcomes for our member organizations.

Location:

Jupiter Medical Center, Jupiter, FL. This position is typically full-time.

• Perform complex build and configuration within Inpatient Applications for interfaced products, including anything related to Orderable/Performable tests or procedures.
• Participate in planning, implementation and go-live activities for the assigned application, which includes being on-site with the customer, gathering specifications, discovery questions, capturing process gaps, demonstrating Epic foundation build and workflow design, and tracking risks, issues, and requests.
• Actively monitor assigned support tickets, document activities thoroughly, and resolve issues within established service levels.
• Under the direction of senior team members, conduct workflow analysis and design with input from operational leadership; facilitate workflow adoption of new processes.
• Participate in system testing events by executing scripts and accurately documenting and reporting any errors or deficiencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education — Preferred but not required certification in Epic OpTime OR, Anesthesia inc, Sedation & Perfusion Application. Prefer knowledge of OR, anesthesia, sedation, and perfusion workflows and procedures. Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a combination of college education and 5–7 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Experience / Required Knowledge — Prior analyst experience with OR and/or Anesthesia information systems; familiarity with Epic OR and Anesthesia systems; understanding of how the OR department interacts operationally with other areas such as ordering physicians, the billing office, and medical records; familiarity with scheduling workflows for perioperative documentation, case requests, add-on policies, and general scheduling permissions; familiarity with preference cards, case cart, and materials management workflow;

understanding of hospital policies related to the OR, AORN policies, and Joint Commission requirements; familiarity with anesthesia documentation policies; understanding integration between OpTime, lab, PACS, and dictation systems.

Education & etc. — Familiarity with how anesthesiologists work with other departments (OR, procedural areas, ED, L&D) and with interfaces between OpTime and other systems.

Requires sitting for long periods, use of computer and telecommunication devices. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, and be capable of critical thinking, making sound decisions, being detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated.
