Position: Protective Services Specialist 4 (PCN 063198)

Office of Children's Services (OCS) is recruiting for a full‑time Protective Service Specialist 4 located in Bethel, Fairbanks, Anchorage, or Wasilla, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing

The individual in this position is responsible for Child Protection Services. They are the bridge between management and line staff, while also acting as a resource within the office and community, and serving as a community liaison with other agencies. They supervise a number of caseworkers, assigning, reviewing and consulting on cases. They have a variety of administrative functions, as well as providing personnel management for their staff.

Working Environment You Can Expect

The work we perform is critical and significantly impacts the communities we serve. As a result, the Office of Children's Services works on evenings and weekends as well as weekdays, so overtime and on‑call work are expectations of our workers.

Frequency of travel is expected to be 2‑5 times a month. There may be day trips and occasional overnight stays in rural conditions with some exposure to extreme weather conditions in the winter. Travel in outlying areas may involve small aircraft and overnight stays.
