This position is located in our Anchorage Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) office in the Boney Courthouse.

What You Will Be Doing

Provide clerical support and case preparation to Adult Probation Officers for the Alcohol Safety Action Program for screening, monitoring, and client referral to Behavioral Health & Social Services providers. Review and evaluate all incoming court paperwork and client files to determine what action should be taken when assisting the defendant in fulfilling court requirements. Contact in-state ASAP offices, Department of Motor Vehicles, and providers to ensure program completion.

Assist in the monitoring of alcohol & drug testing for the ASAP/Therapeutic Court participants. This position requires working some weekends and holidays as needed.

The position is located at 303 K Street, Anchorage, Alaska 99501. Conveniently located in the Boney Courthouse in Downtown Anchorage and within walking distance to Simon & Seaforts, Snow City Café, and Coastal Trail.

    Skills:

    Ability to take into account the audience and nature of the information to make clear, oral, and written presentations. Ability to clarify and express ideas and facts, or underlying rationale, intent, and motive by educating others on unfamiliar concepts related to the program in an organized, clear, and concise manner.
  • Office Technology:
    Skill in using office technology such as computers, computer applications, and other office equipment to develop and communicate information in the appropriate format.
  • Problem Solving:
    Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

  • A valid Driver’s License is required at the time of appointment.
  • Requires use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (ASPIN), which includes passing a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
  • May be required to work some weekends and holidays as needed.
