Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Security Worker to join our team for the seasonal operation of our remote hotel in Denali, Alaska. This role is critical in ensuring the health, safety, and security of our property, guests, and seasonal employee base. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and adaptable to the unique challenges of working in a remote wilderness environment.
About Denali National Park & Preserve and Doyon/Aramark Joint Venture:
Summer days in Alaska stretch nearly endlessly, with up to 20 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice. Spanning 6.2 million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Denali, the highest peak in North America, and attracts over half a million visitors annually. Conveniently accessible by road—4.5 hours from Anchorage and 2 hours from Fairbanks. Doyon Limited and Aramark have teamed up in a Joint Venture as the Denali National Park & Preserve's Concessionaire.
Open May to September, our operation manages the transportation, retail, guest service and food and beverage concessions with our client;
The National Park Service. By road, our 100 Blue Bird Bus Fleet takes guests past the 15‑mile public access point daily during summer months, allowing people to hike, view wildlife, climb, and camp where few people have set foot.
This is a seasonal role with ideal dates of May 4 - September 20, 2026. We offer competitive wages, paid holidays, sick pay and benefits stipend, on‑site housing and meal plan ($16/day all inclusive!), and local discounts.
Responsibilities- Monitor grounds, facilities, and common areas to maintain a safe environment.
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, or safety concerns involving visitors or staff.
- Conduct regular patrols of the property, staff housing, and service areas to safeguard against theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
- Act as the first responder in medical, fire, or security emergencies and coordinate with local authorities and emergency services when necessary.
- Lead drills and preparedness exercises for staff.
- Maintain accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and ensure compliance with policies, safety protocols, and state/federal regulations.
- Provide courteous assistance to visitors and employees, fostering a safe and respectful workplace culture.
- Previous experience as a security officer preferred.
- Knowledgeable in search and seizure, constitutional rights, investigative and interviewing techniques.
- Ability to independently gather and interpret information and accurately complete required reporting procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain confidentiality in all investigations and incidents.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 25 lb; frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs; ability to work days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to work under indirect supervision and maintain daily contact with a wide range of people including guests, Fire/Police officials, and employees.
- Willingness to adapt to a remote wilderness environment and adhere to environmental aspects communicated during EMS training.
- Must be able to work in a seasonal schedule (May − September).
