Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Mapping Geologist located in Juneau, AK. The Mapping Geologist will perform geological mapping and fieldwork to support exploration activities in the Ambler Mining District. Primary responsibilities include conducting field studies, detailed rock and soil sampling, geological logging, assisting in geophysical surveys, and supporting the drilling program. Collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team is essential to successfully advance exploration projects.
Qualifications- Proficiency in geological mapping and performing fieldwork in remote and rugged environments
- Experience in logging geological formations and collecting, recording, and analyzing rock and soil samples
- Knowledge of geophysics and its practical applications in mineral exploration
- Understanding of drilling techniques, procedures, and safety protocols
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret geological data effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with team members
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in mining or mineral exploration is considered a strong asset
