Food Services Assistant (FSA)

Bartlett Regional Hospital is seeking a Food Service Assistant to join our Dietary team and support food preparation and meal service within the hospital and Wildflower Court. This recruitment is open until filled.

Internal Hires:
Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
External Hires:
Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.

• Food Service Assistant 1: starts at $20.47 per hour
• Food Service Assistant 2: starts at $22.40 per hour

Food Service Assistant 1: Under close supervision, responsible for supporting all aspects of food preparation and meal service within the hospital and Wildflower Court, learning multiple tasks across food service operations while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Food Service Assistant 2: With greater independence, responsible for a wide range of food service duties with proficiency and minimal supervision. In addition to core service functions, assists with training new staff, helps coordinate shift activities, and demonstrates knowledge of therapeutic diets.

• Education:
  
  High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience:
  
  None.
• Preferred Experience:
  
  Previous experience in food service preferred.
• License(s):
  None.
• Certification(s):
  Must obtain a State of Alaska Food Workers Card or Serve Safe within 30 days of hire.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience:
  
  One (1) year of experience as an FSA 1 or comparable experience in a food service setting.
• Preferred Experience:
  
  Experience in an institutional food service setting is preferred.
• License(s):
  None.
• Certification(s):
  State of Alaska Food Workers Card or Serve Safe.

• All new employees are required to produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to start of employment.
