This position works for the Facilities Services department of UAS. As a student worker, candidate will provide for campus beautification and safety by planting and caring for ornamental trees, shrubs, annual and perennial flowers, Lawn and hardscape maintenance, snow removal and sanding, and a full range of other landscaping maintenance tasks. Co‑operates with and takes direction from Grounds Lead Person and Landscape Superintendent.
Performs general labor and other semi-skilled duties when assisting tradesmen as directed.
This may be an ideal position for candidates who enjoy being outside and working with their hands.
UAS has one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation with grounds and landscaping that enhances our educational buildings, housing, pathways, and this wonderful setting in southeast Alaska. UAS dedicates planning, education and whole lot of hard work to keep our grounds and landscaping looking good. UAS Grounds is seeking student workers to help with campus maintenance. This will be part‑time position, maximum of 20 hrs per week.
Minimum QualificationsApplicant must be a University of Alaska student, enrolled and regularly attending six (6) or more credit hours and must possess a 2.0 or better cumulative grade point average CGPA). A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.
Position DetailsThis position is located on the UAS campus in Juneau, AK. This is a part‑time, student position. New hires will be placed on the UA Student Salary Schedule, Grade 2, step 15 ($14.96/hour).
