Join JAMHI Health & Wellness as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) providing comprehensive, integrated medical care. Under the general direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Nurse Practitioner (APRN) is responsible for managing acute and chronic medical conditions, both physical and mental, in collaboration with the Psychiatric Provider and the integrated team. This role includes conducting histories and physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, providing medical treatments and advanced procedures within scope of practice, prescribing medications, and making referrals to specialty care as appropriate.
Care is delivered using a holistic, patient-centered approach with a strong emphasis on health promotion, patient education and counseling, and disease prevention, while supporting continuity of care in a mission-driven environment serving diverse and complex patient needs.
- Medical diagnosis, treatment, evaluation, and management of a wide range of acute and chronic diseases.
- Obtain patient histories and conduct physical examinations.
- Order and perform diagnostic studies.
- Request physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other rehabilitation treatments.
- Prescribe drugs for acute and chronic illness.
- Provide prenatal care and family planning services.
- Provide primary and specialty care services, health-maintenance care for adults, including annual physicals.
- Perform minor surgeries and procedures.
- Counsel and educate clients on health behaviors, self-care skills, and treatment options in coordination with other healthcare providers.
- Graduation from an accredited graduate (MSN) or doctoral (DNP) program.
- Experience in a generalist RN role.
- Completion of all required supervised clinical training and clinical practice hours necessary for licensure and prescriptive authority.
All JAMHI positions require the ability to pass a criminal background check in accordance with current state regulation requirements and a valid Alaska driver’s license and be able to clear the JAMHI auto insurance screening through the independent insurance carrier if driving.
