ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS ONLY! The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Anchorage International Airport, is looking for a Mechanic - Automotive - Advanced Journey/Lead to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What You Will Be Doing

As a Mechanic, the incumbent in this position is a full journey-level, heavy duty mechanic specialist. Duties include troubleshoot, analyze and repair of gasoline and diesel engines, repairing and rebuilding drive train components, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems of heavy construction, snow removal and ARFF equipment. Diagnosis and repairing electrical system failures. Additional duties include performing roadside service on equipment;

performing daily maintenance, service, and safety inspections; and maintaining shop records including work orders, parts order forms and timesheets.

The mission at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is to spearhead the development, operation, and maintenance of the airport, serving Anchorage, Alaska, and the global community. Our team ensures the airport s safety and efficient functioning, manages diverse aircraft operations, airfield lighting systems, and regulatory certifications for FAA Part 139 and TSA 1542.

This position is located at the Anchorage International Airport. It offers a uniquely challenging environment with overtime and shift differential eligibility for a 24/7/365 operation.

Minimum Qualifications

Vacancies in this job class are filled through Union referral, except for promotions, demotions, transfers, and emergency appointments. Airport Security Badge Candidates must be eligible for an airport  per TSA regulations (49 CFR 1542), including fingerprinting and a background check.

Commercial Driver s License Required This position requires a Class A CDL with N-Tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain it within 120 days of hire. See policy for pre-employment drug testing.

Drug and Alcohol Policy Selected candidates must comply with the DOT&PF policy and may be subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
