ATTENTION ALL ALASKA RESIDENTS! The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Highways and Aviation Tok District is looking for a Full-Time Equipment Operator Journey 2 in Northway, to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What You Will Be Doing- Perform year-round maintenance of state highways and airports, including operating and servicing heavy and light-duty equipment.
- Operate machinery such as graders, dozers (D4 to D7), loaders, semi-tractors with belly dumps, and snow removal equipment for tasks like plowing, hauling, ditching, and surface repairs.
- Conduct traffic control duties including flagging and support general maintenance activities like vegetation control, sign and fence upkeep, and drainage structure maintenance.
- Perform additional duties such as welding, steam boiler operation for thawing drainage structures, vehicle maintenance, and shop cleanup.
- May serve as lead, requiring daily entries into the State MMS computer system.
