Position: Network Specialist I/II (41-6098) Anchorage

Network Specialist I/II (Anchorage)

Join the Alaska Court System’s Networking team and help power the systems that keep justice moving. We’re looking for a tech‑savvy problem solver who enjoys working with servers, networks, and cutting‑edge tools.

Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain datacenter, WAN, and LAN infrastructure.
  • Manage Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, Citrix, antivirus, and related technologies.
  • Troubleshoot network issues, fine‑tune system performance, and secure user access to critical tools.
  • Support local and wide area networks and enhance digital communication systems.
  • Collaborate with state agencies, vendors, and emergency planning teams.
  • Travel to remote court locations across Alaska to set up or repair systems.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in networking, IT analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • One (1) year of Microsoft‑based network operating systems experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field may substitute for two (2) years of non‑specific professional experience.
  • US citizenship is required to obtain security clearance.
Preferred Experience
  • Two (2) years of active directory experience within the last three (3) years.
  • One (1) year of VMware, Citrix, Cisco Meraki Security Appliance, Palo Alto, and Microsoft Exchange administration.
  • Experience configuring Cisco routers and switches.
  • Relevant Microsoft or Cisco certifications (e.g., Microsoft Security, CCNA).
Work Hours

Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week. Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with a one‑hour lunch break.
