The Alaska Veterans & Pioneers Home is recruiting for an Assisted Living Aide/Certified Nurse Aide 1 position as part of the direct care staff. This is a multiple class position and will be filled based on the qualifications of the successful candidate and the needs of the organization.

• $19.19 Assisted Living Aide starting wage per hour
• $21.69 Certified Nurse Aide 1 starting wage per hour

This position is a member of an outstanding nursing and direct care staff and plays a vital role in providing person-centered care and support in a safe environment for up to seventy-nine (79) elder residents.

What You Will Be Doing
:
Provide high quality personal care to assisted living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner. Following the resident's Assisted Living Plan, this position assists residents with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and with transporting into and out of bed, wheelchairs, bathtubs, lifts, and using walkers and canes. This position is also part of a team providing programs that promote physical well-being and relationships by involving residents in activities with meaningful person-to-person social interchange with other residents, family, friends, and staff.

The Working Environment You Can Expect
:
This job is located at the Palmer Veterans and Pioneer Home, 250 E Fireweed Ave, Palmer, Alaska (Matanuska-Susitna Borough). The home is near parks and views of the Chugach and Talkeetna Mountain Ranges, and is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. You will work under the direction of a registered nurse as part of our direct care staff and provide assistance and personal care to residents living in the home.

• This position is in support of the Pioneer Home, a 24-hour facility.
• This Pioneer Home is an Eden Alternative facility with contact with plants, flowers, and pets.
• Employees may be screened for tuberculosis and criminal history.

Minimum Qualifications

ASSISTED LIVING AIDE
:
Physically capable of standing, walking, lifting, bending, and pushing.
