Overview
This recruitment notice extends the recruitment period. This position is open to All Applicants. This is a multiple class position and will be filled based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. The mission of the Division of the Alaska Pioneer Homes is:
Providing elder Alaskans a home and community, celebrating life through its final breath. This position is a member of the Juneau Pioneer Home and provides person-centered support in a safe environment for up to forty-nine residents. The multi-class position may be used to fill multiple positions based on qualifications.

Provide high-quality personal care to assisted living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner. Plan, coordinate, and lead social and recreational activities. Lead group sessions and programs that promote physical well-being and meaningful person-to-person social interaction with residents, families, friends, and staff. Plan, organize, and implement individual and group recreational programs. Use therapeutic techniques to motivate socialization and constructive use of leisure time.
Lead and encourage residents in activities that are physical, social, and cultural. Examples include physical exercise, hobbies, crafts, parties, picnics, religious activities, and holiday celebrations.
The duties may include driving, escorting, and transporting residents using a wheelchair-accessible van. May assist residents with lifting, moving, and assisting with transfers into and out of wheelchairs, lifts, walkers, and canes per the resident’s Assisted Living Plan.
