Position OverviewOn‑call member of nursing and direct care staff at the Juneau Pioneer Home. Part‑time, filling in as needed to support up to 49 elder residents in a safe, person‑centered environment.
Responsibilities- Provide high‑quality personal care in a warm, supportive, and caring manner.
- Assist residents with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting to and from bed, wheelchairs, bathtubs, lifts, walkers, and canes as outlined in each resident’s Assisted Living Plan.
- Lead and participate in programs that promote physical wellbeing and foster meaningful social interaction among residents, family, friends, and staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe care environment.

Working EnvironmentThe position is located at 4675 Glacier Hwy, Juneau, Alaska. The home is nestled near Twin Lakes with breathtaking views of nearby mountains, the Gastineau Channel, and wildlife such as brown bears, eagles, ravens, blue herons, kingfishers, porcupines, deer, and squirrels.
QualificationsThis position supports a 24‑hour facility and is an Eden Alternative environment that includes contact with plants, flowers, and pets such as cats, dogs, fish, and birds. Employees receive routine screening for tuberculosis, criminal history, and COVID‑19 as required.
