The Division of Insurance is recruiting for a Program Coordinator 2 located in Juneau!

What You Will Be Doing

The Program Coordinator 2 will function as a subject matter expert in state flexibility waivers under Section 1332 of the Affordable Care Act. They will collaborate with internal staff, staff of other agencies, key vendors and stakeholders in order to manage the day to day details around the coordination of Alaska’s Section 1332 waiver proposal. This individual will provide public outreach, support during the legislative session, and policy development that will improve access to high quality, affordable health insurance for all Alaskans.

The Division of Insurance is a small division that consists of 48 positions split between Anchorage and Juneau with the Director based in Juneau. The Working Environment You Can Expect

This position is on the 9th floor of the State Office Building in downtown Juneau, Alaska. The 9th floor also houses other divisions within the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. The office consist of floor to ceiling windows that allows natural light to flow in the building. From the 9th floor we can view of the Governor's mansion and Juneau's beautiful mountain ranges.

  • Insurance:
    Knowledge of various types of insurance, insurance regulations, claims processing, examination, adjudication, or adjustment.
  • Legal, Government, and Jurisprudence:
    Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, legal practices and documents, Government regulations, Executive orders, agency rules, Government organization and functions, and the democratic political process.
