What You Will Be Doing

This position serves as a Southcoast Region Construction Division Project Engineer. As the Department's designated representative for construction contract administration, the incumbent will be responsible for the inspection, acceptance, and payment of work performed on one or more ongoing construction projects of average to above average complexity, projects with high potential for public impacts, and projects with sensitive stakeholder commitments.

Working Environment You Can Expect

This position is located in Juneau. The job reports to the DOT&PF Southcoast Region 7‑mile office. Work ranges from small local street/highway projects to marine terminal work and airport improvements, requiring the ability to read and interpret design plans, develop engineering solutions, and document construction of regional projects.

Alaska's diverse and expansive terrain, extreme weather conditions, and unique habitats provide both challenges and rewards. Employees may work in remote locations and urban centers, addressing a wide range of transportation needs and contributing to critical infrastructure.
