The Kake City School District is seeking a full-time K-12 Literacy Interventionist to provide direct literacy support and strengthen instructional practices across all grade levels. This certificated teacher will work within the district’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to deliver small-group and individualized interventions, monitor student progress, and align instruction to the science of reading. The position emphasizes collaboration with teachers and paraprofessionals, supporting the use of high-quality curricula such as CKLA and Amplify ELA, while ensuring that interventions are data-driven and responsive to student needs.
In addition to providing targeted instruction, the Literacy Interventionist will serve as a resource and coach for staff, modeling effective practices and participating in professional learning communities. The role also includes integrating culturally responsive approaches, partnering with families and community members, and promoting the use of Tlingit language and traditions in literacy instruction. This position is central to the district’s commitment to improving literacy outcomes for all students and building long-term instructional capacity.
