The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) at UAF is seeking applicants for a variety of temporary positions that may become available throughout the year. Multiple departments within CFOS such as Fisheries, Oceanography, Marine Biology, and other related areas will review applicants from this pool on an as‑needed basis.

- Ordering and receiving supplies
- Administrative and office support
Depending on the specific role, additional requirements may include travel to remote sites, lifting or moving heavy equipment, and driving a UA vehicle (valid driver’s license required). Required training will be based on the duties of the position.
To thrive in this role, successful candidates will demonstrate professionalism and clear communication, both verbal and written. Show strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize tasks. Be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
About CFOSCFOS is one of the most geographically diverse academic units within UAF, with a main office in Fairbanks and additional locations in Anchorage, the Seward Marine Center, the NOAA-UAF Kasitsna Bay Laboratory, and the Juneau Lena Point Fisheries Facility.
Minimum QualificationsSpecialized education and experience to perform the essential functions of the job. The level of experience is varied and is based on the position.
Position DetailsPositions are temporary, non‑exempt (hourly). Hours will be based on the needs of the department. New hires will be placed on the UA Temporary Salary Schedule based on education and experience.
This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year and applicants are reviewed as needed.
