Student Housing Cleaning Crew - Academic Year 2025/2026 job at University of Alaska Fairbanks. Juneau, AK.
The UAS Student Housing office is hiring Cleaning Crew student assistants for the 2025‑2026 academic year to provide custodial support for Student Housing residents and Conference Housing Guests. Being a Cleaning Crew member is a great way to improve your marketable skills for future employment, such as teamwork, customer service, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and time management. On‑site training will be provided, including equipment and chemical usage training and hazardous materials training.
Pay begins at $14.96/hr.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Capability to work with diverse individuals, handle conflict mediation, and work independently or collaboratively
- Demonstrated problem‑solving abilities and sound judgment in decision‑making
- Organizational skills and ability to complete tasks efficiently
- Positive attitude and ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including walking across varied terrain and carrying loads of 25–50 pounds
- Prior experience with cleaning or custodial work preferred
- Preference given to applicants with at least two semesters of community living experience before employment (not required)
- Completion of all UAS employee required training (Safety training, Title IX, Protection of minors, Campus Security Authority, FERPA) within two weeks of hire date
A valid driver's license (preferred) and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.
