UAS Student Ambassadors play a crucial role in promoting the institution and providing insights into campus life. UAS Student Ambassadors add authenticity to admission efforts, as students often see them as peers and equals. UAS Admissions and Recruitment provides students with leadership opportunities.

This position serves as a front-line support role for the university, combining student services coordination with recruitment assistance. The role involves providing comprehensive customer service to prospective and current students through various channels including in-person assistance, campus tours, phone support, and digital communications. To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, works well in a team setting, is professional, friendly, and takes initiative.

To thrive in this role, you must be comfortable answering phones, engaging with new people (face-to-face and online), and speaking publicly- as the ambassadors will be leading campus tours. One must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google applications. Student ambassadors must also be effective in written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

This position requires to work independently and as part of a team with a commitment to serve as a UAS representative to local community members. UAS relies on this position to be dependable, take initiative, and be available to work occasionally in the evenings and on the weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a UAS student enrolled in at least 6 credits during the academic year. Must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA unless first year student.

Position Details

This position is located on the Juneau campus at the University of Alaska Southeast. This is a part-time, non-exempt student position, starting at $13.55 per hour during the academic year.
