The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of AVTEC, is recruiting for a Publications Specialist 2 located in Seward. No Cover Letter Required. This recruitment is for Alaska Residents only.
What You Will Be DoingThe Publications Specialist 2 coordinates and produces print and digital communications that support students, faculty, staff, administrators, external partners, and the broader community, ensuring consistent messaging across all stakeholder groups. The role researches, writes, edits, and designs publications, recruitment materials, website content, social media, press releases, and promotional materials in close collaboration with subject matter experts and division leadership. It ensures communications align with AVTEC’s strategic messaging and comply with State of Alaska standards, accreditation requirements, and planned reviews.
The position serves as liaison with external printing vendors and procurement, overseeing production quality, budget adherence, and contract compliance while maintaining inventories of promotional and recruitment materials. Additionally, the specialist manages digital assets, archives official documents and forms, and supports public relations and outreach efforts.

Portfolio RequirementApplicants must provide a professional portfolio demonstrating relevant experience in print and digital communications. The portfolio should include representative samples of authored, edited, and/or designed materials such as publications, brochures, newsletters, reports, recruitment materials, website content, social media content, press releases. A digital portfolio is preferred.
Driving License RequirementApplicants must possess a valid driver’s license, to be provided before reporting to duty.
