Position OverviewWe are currently hiring an existing college student or recent graduate to participate in a 10‑week paid summer internship program at our corporate office in Sitka, Alaska, or Juneau, Alaska. This role offers interns the chance to work alongside a variety of administrative professionals and apply classroom knowledge to real‑world challenges. Interns will finish the program with a sense of achievement, task‑prioritization skills, and an understanding of our mission‑driven organization rooted in Alaska Native values.
SkillsDevelopment Opportunities
- Assist with general office operations, including filing, data entry and document management.
- Support scheduling, meeting coordination and calendar management for executives.
- Help prepare internal and external communications such as social media posts, web posts, eNews blast, reports and presentations.
- Participate in special projects related to corporate governance, shareholder services or compliance.
- Provide front‑desk coverage and greet visitors as needed.
- Collaborate with various departments to support administrative needs.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to a positive, productive office culture.
- Assist with the planning and execution of Shee Atiká shareholder meetings.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Business, Communications, Public Administration or related field preferred) or recent graduate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Detail‑oriented, organized and eager to learn.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Strong networking and relationship‑building skills.
- Enthusiasm for acquiring new knowledge and embracing challenges.
- Proactive attitude and readiness to take ownership of projects.
- Must be able to work a 40‑hour week.
- Demonstrated productivity, ability to switch between tasks and handle variety.
- GPA of 2.0 or better.
- U.S. citizen.
At the completion of the summer internship, interns will be required to present a group project, including findings and experience, to the executive leadership team.

WorkEnvironment
This is an in‑person position in an office environment. It requires the ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100 %) and to interact professionally with co‑workers, management and clients (100 %). Occasional business travel may be required. Only requested and approved expenses will be covered by SAI.
