Job Summary
Office Assistant 1 – full‑time, located in Fairbanks, Alaska. This position is open to Alaska residents only.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Office Assistant 1, you will provide a full range of clerical and receptionist services, which play a vital role in the workflow of the Office of Children's Services. Duties include greeting visitors, taking and routing calls at the Fairbanks Regional Office, front‑desk support, data entry, filing, logging, and other clerical tasks as required. You will support a large team of social workers across multiple regions, contributing to the mission of strengthening Alaska’s families and children.

Located in the Fairbanks office as part of the clerical support unit, you will be an integral member of the efficient administrative team.
Competencies- Clerical:
Knowledge of filing, typing, data entry, maintaining records, and using forms. - Computer
Skills:
Proficiency with computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems. - Customer Service:
Works with clients, the public, and agency partners to assess needs, provide information, and resolve issues. - Reading:
Understands and interprets written material including technical documents and regulations. - Oral Communication:
Expresses information clearly and convincingly, listens attentively, and responds appropriately.
- All positions require valid successful completion of a background investigation, including fingerprinting and a criminal record check.
- The successful candidate may need to attend multiple training courses normally located in Anchorage.
- A copy of academic transcripts (unofficial acceptable if institution name/URL is included).
- A list of three professional references, at least two from current or former supervisors.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.;
- Acceptance in full standing by an accredited college; or
- A Career Readiness Certificate with ACT Work Keys® skill level 3 or higher in Graphic Literacy, Applied Math, and Workplace Documents.
