This work requires the incumbent to resolve problems on a daily basis, possess analytical skills, maintain confidentiality, and use good judgment to modify existing processes or to address particular situations on a case by case basis.

Our

Organization, Mission, and Culture

The Department of Administration, Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH), is responsible for providing high quality adjudication services in a timely, efficient, cost effective manner to persons challenging initial state decisions across 150 subject areas.

The Benefits Of Joining Our Team

OAH is committed to providing a work environment with each employee valued. The Administrative Officer is vital to providing the management support to OAH that permits its team of judges to provide due process to Alaskans. The position also provides an early entry to learning the skills of supervision with responsibility for only two other positions. The Administrative Officer works closely with the Chief Administrative Law Judge to ensure the Office fulfills its statutory mission and is a valued member of our team.

The

OAH is located on the 19th floor of the Atwood Building in downtown Anchorage, with walking, great food, and shopping opportunities (at work parking provided). While the Administrative Officer is responsible for the management of the Office rather than the caseload, we all support each other during high-volume days (OAH handles between  cases a year).
