Chambers Judicial Assistant 1 (41-1050) Ketchikan
Join the Superior Court team and play a key role in supporting the work of justice. As a Chambers Judicial Assistant to the Honorable Judge Lybrand, you will manage the daily operations of a judge’s chambers and serve as the primary point of contact for attorneys, court staff, and the public.
Job DescriptionResponsibilities include:
- Coordinate hearings, maintain the judge’s calendar, and ensure cases move smoothly through the court process.
- Prepare and distribute orders and correspondence, review filings for accuracy, and keep detailed records in the court’s case management system.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, timesheets, travel requests, and expense reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for attorneys, court staff, and the public.
- Graduation from high school or completion of a GED certificate.
- Two years of progressively responsible, fully qualified work experience as an administrative assistant.
- Substitutions: a vocational training course in legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills; a bachelor’s degree; or twelve months of general clerical work equal to a Court Case Manager 1.
- Preferred: work experience as a legal administrative assistant.
- Post‑secondary transcripts if education is used to meet qualifications.
- Two most recent performance evaluations (if available).
- Three professional references with contact information.
Full‑time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one‑hour lunch break (37.5 hours per week).
