The Kenai Trial Court of the Alaska Court System (ACS) is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Court Case Manager 1 (salary range 10).This position will perform case processing duties and serve as a primary contact with the public.
- Personnel rules will be applied to determine step placement for the successful internal candidate.
- Employees working in this job classification will be considered for annual salary increases upon successful completion of a 1-year probationary period. This job classification will promote to range 11 after successful completion of three years of service with the court.
This position is responsible for processing the daily court deposit, preparing bank deposits, preparing and processing change orders, and managing petty cash and change fund. You will serve as the go-to expert for troubleshooting accounting, receipting, and cash drawer issues. You will process all writs of execution and maintain CIV-543 spreadsheets for all writs or direct payments.
You will track and process PVCK checks, address verification letters, and unclaimed property funds. You will also ensure the accuracy of documents received from the jail or online bail posting notifications and monetary amounts received, enter and/or update arrest bonds in each case, and process documents as directed.
Additionally, you will regularly process motion, tickle, and audit reports. As the bookkeeper, this position will process many financial reports and require the appropriate action to be taken promptly and accurately. Duties include but are not limited to, cost collections, bail forfeitures, bail exonerations, return of civil cash bonds, disbursements, and PFD executions.
This position will also serve as a case manager and process incoming and outgoing documents as assigned. They will answer questions from internal and external customers. This position will calculate pre- and post- judgment interest and prep proposed monetary judgments. This position will process assigned case or document types as directed, within multiple systems.

- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience.
- Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a month-for-month basis.
- Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.
- Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical experience on a month-for-month basis.
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.
