Overview

This recruitment is exempt from the Hiring Freeze (Administrative Order 358).

ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS!

The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, is recruiting for an Accounting Technician 1!

This position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a Range 12.

This position is located in Juneau. However, this position may be relocated within Alaska with necessary approvals where infrastructure allows.

What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated professional to support the Division’s financial operations. The Accounting Technician 1 processes a high volume of payments to vendors and program participants. This role involves researching transactions in the Division’s case management system and the State accounting system, and providing guidance to field staff regarding fiscal policies and practices.

The Working Environment You Can Expect

Located in downtown Juneau, our office sits at the base of the Juneau-Douglas Bridge, offering convenient access, ample parking, and proximity to Overstreet Park and the Whale Walk. This position offers the potential for a hybrid telework schedule following a successful 6-month probationary period.

Qualifications and Experience

One year of clerical work experience maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations.

Substitutions: Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience. Postsecondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month).
