Full-Time Position(1.0 FTE)
SUMMARY -Provides support to a school district program. Maintains accurate reporting of revenues and expenses, monitors the general ledger and makes corrections as necessary, prepares and distributes invoices, monitors payments/collections, prepares cashreceipts, and makes bank deposits. Prepares purchasing documents, reviews and prepares payroll documents, and maintains/monitorscredit card purchases for several staff members. Prepares/monitors and/or assists with and provides guidance for travel authorizationsfor internal and external staff.
Prepares routine financial reports for District staff and the public. Works closely with the finance officefor compliance toaccountingprocedures. Works with cash-handling staff to facilitate proper process and procedure. It should be notedthataccountingtechnicians may have significant responsibility for cash handling.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Additional course work or experience in bookkeeping, financial reconciliation or otheraccountingfunctions.
- Two years prior clericalaccountingexperience or customer/agency billing experience preferred.
- Experience working within regulatory reporting requirements.
- Valid Alaska driver’s license required.
- Basic general ledgeraccountingfunctions

- Maintain accurate financial records
- Learn and apply existingaccountingsystems, policies, procedures, methods and techniques
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Operate a personal computer and related software includingaccountingsoftware and spreadsheets applications.
- Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors and members of the public.
- Perform arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
- Maintain accurate and complete records and files both electronic and paper.
Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints will be forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a criminal background check.
