Job Description Position Purpose

As Project Leader, you will plan, execute, and complete projects ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, timely delivery, and adherence to budget constraints. You will navigate project‑specific challenges, communicate progress to stakeholders, foster a collaborative environment, deliver inclusive outcomes, and drive success through clear focus on objectives.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities
  • Lead a safety culture driven by individual behavior and accountability; maintain OSHA, State, and Veolia Safety and Environmental Program compliance.
  • Ensure contract adherence, environmental, safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
  • Maintain high quality standards, coordinate problem resolution, manage conflicting priorities, meet deadlines, and serve on a rotational on‑call schedule.
  • Exhibit leadership and mentoring; manage resources (personnel, equipment, funds), motivate team members, evaluate performance, and ensure effective communication of business initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, incorporate feedback into deliverables, administer client contracts, and perform client reporting.
  • Hold responsibility for budget preparation, cost control, forecasting, and P&L ownership.
  • Inspire and guide a team toward project goals, fostering collaboration, empowerment, and professional growth.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, navigate sensitive situations, and influence without direct authority.
  • Engage with clients, provide updates, and address needs throughout the project.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work culture; provide strategic leadership, coaching, and recognition to regional personnel (typically >10 FTEs).
  • Champion safety excellence with protocols, training, performance tracking, and accountability.
  • Maintain client relationships, facilitate scope expansions, and engage in council meetings for business development.
  • Interpret contracts, conduct meetings, set deadlines, track progress, and automate data capture for future quotes.
  • Manage procurement (MBE/WBE/VBE), ensure compliance, and justify capital expenditures.
  • Monitor financial performance (budget, personnel utilization, pricing, invoicing, collections); prepare monthly and annual reports; forecast variances; ensure timely receivable collection.
  • Oversee facilities (>10 mgd) at multiple worksites or a single plant; manage revenue < $10M; supervise >10 FTEs.
Work Environment
  • 60% time in operations, 40% in office at project sites.
  • Attend client meetings (city council, utility board, internal management).
  • Work outside in inclement weather and drive company vehicle as needed.
  • Occasional travel for training or meetings.
Qualifications Education / Experience / Background
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Project Management, or related field preferred (not required).
  • 6 years of leadership experience, including 4 years leading project teams, emphasizing collaboration and delivery.
