Mercy Breast Surgery is seeking a board certified or board eligible surgeon who is Breast Fellowship trained to join our practice in Joplin, MO. Practice at Mercy Hospital Joplin with an option for outreach.
OverviewLocation:
Joplin, Missouri. Population and community context described below. The ideal candidate will join a 100% Breast Surgery practice with a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- Work in a collegial environment with Medical Oncology, Breast Radiology, Diagnostic Radiology, Infusion Therapy, Diagnostics (PET/CT), Social Work, Nutrition, Chaplain, Dietitians, Cancer-Dedicated research RNs, Support Groups and more
- Maintain a 100% Breast Surgery practice
- No General Surgery or ER call
- Support is provided by a fully accredited Commission on Cancer program
- Plastic Surgery available for immediate reconstruction
- Very limited number of trained breast surgeons in the service area with a quick ramp-up period
- EMR is EPIC
- Opportunity to teach medical students with stipends awarded
- Integrated health system with a productive model and generous guarantees
- Income guarantee of $460K plus $25K in recruitment incentives
- Sign-on/commencement bonus and resident/fellow stipends tailored to needs
- During the guarantee period: 20 days PTO, 6 holidays, 5 days CME

- Integrated health system positioned to meet future healthcare challenges
- Storm-hardened architectural design and materials
- Surgery: 11 ORs (space for 3 more; 700 sq ft rooms) with 50 Pre-Op/Post-Op rooms
- 18 Anesthesiologists, 24 CRNAs
- Da Vinci Robot available
