We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Asphalt Paving Operator to join our dynamic team and contribute to the day-to-day operations of our construction projects.
Your Role:
Enhancing Construction Operations
As an Asphalt Paving Operator at Emery Sapp & Sons, you will be instrumental in safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment to ensure our construction projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Your expertise in equipment operation, commitment to safety standards, and ability to collaborate effectively with team members will drive the success of each project.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and loaders to move materials, earth, and heavy objects.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and meets high-quality standards.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Communicate regularly with crew members and subcontractors to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with crew members and subcontractors to keep them informed of project schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain equipment and follow safety protocols at all times.
- Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects.
- Provide on-the-job training to new operators and mentor other team members as needed.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic construction environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment operation preferred.
- 1+ years of experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in a construction setting.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus.
